Isn't it wonderful that our pets are living healthier, happier, longer lives as a part of our families? Starting at age 7 our pets are considered seniors! Although the risk of disease increases with age, old age itself is not a disease.
As a senior they are at a greater risk for age related disease including: kidney disease, heart disease, obesity, urinary tract disease, thyroid disease, and arthritis. Annual exams and blood screenings can improve your pet's chances of avoiding or treating these issues. By diagnosing these issues early, early disease management will often increase both health and quality of life for our patients.
There are a wide variety of supplements available to our senior patients. Please feel free to ask for a recommendation from one of our veterinarians.
